MELVILLE HOUSE CONDOMINIUM BUILDING

Melville House is an urban residential condominium with retail and commercial uses in Port Warwick. The facility accommodates 48 luxury residences and approximately 25,000 square feet of retail space. The design narrative was that of a renovated warehouse located in the core of a redeveloping urban center.

Residential units on the upper floors were designed as houses rather than apartments units. Balconies create larger outdoor spaces with walls glass to emulate the large glass vistas that would be found in the typical sunroom of a single-family home.

The warehouse parti, or organizing thought, informed the architecture with a modern language to symbolize the redevelopment element of the narrative.
