2019 Tilt-Up Achievement Achievement Awards | E-Commerce Center of Hampton

PMA Architecture was recently recognized with a Tilt-Up Achievement Award from the Tilt-Up Concrete Association. The award was in acknowledgment of the work completed at the E-Commerce Center of Hampton.

The Tilt-Up Achievement Awards were established to honor projects that use site-cast tilt-up concrete to introduce new building types, advance industry technology and provide unique solutions to building programs. 

Using tilt-up concrete construction on E-Commerce optimized the building’s cost, durability, speed of construction despite minimal investment. The tight building envelope provided benefits over the lifetime of the building. Continuously-insulated, monolithic walls with simple sealant joints between panels resulted in extremely low air-leakage and much greater mechanical efficiency. The project also employed simple, creative elemental articulation and vertical rhythm of rectangular shapes to achieve an eye-catching texture on the building facade.
